Hendrickson's Family

Up here in the Rockies, the air is always cool and dry.

Aunt mary Lunen(86 yrs) said she'd stop reering children after
she'd finished with her Great-grand children

According to Dad, His key to long life(83) is hard work and clean living.
I, have a masters degree in Education but the best teacher I ever had was this man. A graduate of the school of hard knocks and common sense.  With a 7th grade education, he retired with more investments and common sense wisdom than I have found in most college text books.  When grandpa died when he was in the seventh grade, he dropped out of school and took over the milk oute for the farm. Our town, Mullan, Idaho(a silver mining town) is made up of "Finn-Gultch", "German-Gultch", "Norwegian Gultch" and "Macroni Flats".  Delivering milkto all these different group of people gave dad a education about people.  I remember studying sociology in college when  I found myself saying "this big word" means "....." that dad used to say.  Sociology was easy because Dad taught it in a common sense way.  When I turned 13, in eight grade, Dad said, "well its about time I taught you how to work.  Our first construction job was repairing Lucille Rinstimeyer's Garage roof.  The rolled roofing weighed(80 lbs) as much as I did(110 lbs) carrying it up the ladder I spent more quality time with dad building things and learning things. In one sense, my inspiration to be a teacher was with working with dad.  I was lucky even though it was hard work.  I see so many bitter fatherless kids, I wish I could share my experiences with Dad with them. Maybe somebody else will someday....
